Tasik Subsea, the Singapore based developer of specialist subsea operations vessels has announced the appointment of Sew Chi Zhong as Project Manager heading up a team of four experienced vessel build Superintendents to manage the build of their vessel Tasik Toba. Sew gained a BEng (Mechanical and Production Engineering) at Nanyang Technological University in Singapore, and joined Singapore’s Pan-United Shipyard in 2004. As a graduate engineer he was a key member of the project team which built SOV Ullswater (delivered 2007) for Hallin Marine. Sew was subsequently recruited by Hallin Marine and was appointed Project Manager for several shipbuild projects including DP2 SOV Windermere (delivered 2010) and DP3 CSS Derwent. John Giddens, founder of Tasik said “We are extremely pleased to have recruited Sew Chi Zhong. He brings a wealth of shipbuilding and project management experience on the same types of specialist vessel as Tasik Toba. He will be based in Singapore and will head up a strong team of vessel build Superintendents on site at Fujian Mawei Shipyard in China, where the Tasik Toba is being built” The Tasik Toba build commenced at Fujian Mawei Shipyard in Fuzhou, China in August 2014 and is on track for scheduled Q1 2017 delivery into a confirmed long term charter.
